IMHO, the debt ceiling crisis is all about the MAGA Repuds thinking that Biden will be blamed, so Trump or some other fascist Repud will become president and the fascist Repuds will control Congress after the 2024 election.

Another commentator who says the same thing, and he provides a lot of facts going back to Reagan to prove it.
Repuds don't care about the deficit because they keep cutting taxes on the rich and the corps they own.
Repuds don't care about spending because they don't cut it when they have the power to do it, like in 2017, 2001 to 2004, and 1981 to 1988, etc.
History shows that the Repuds only care about spending or the deficit when there is a Dem in the White House. So, it can only be to damage the Dems by damaging the US economy and its people.
I hope the voters will, this time, again blame the Repuds for all the damage, however much of it there is.
