German police seize motorised chair
German police have confiscated what may be the world's fastest office chair.
Police say officers happened on the contraption - the work of two inventive 17-year-olds - in the western town of Gross-Zimmern.
The pair had added a lawnmower engine, bicycle brakes and a metal frame to the revolving chair - making it into a go-kart-like vehicle.
Police said in a statement on Monday the inventors insisted they had only tested it over a few metres, but witnesses reported seeing it on several streets.
The boys are being investigated over a variety of possible offences, including defying insurance regulations, driving without a licence and violating registration requirements.
Police did not say what top speed the chair could reach.
It's tough to explain why they're all so pro-Russia on this one, though. Probably because they see it as Russia vs. Georgia and the West, which makes Russia the "underdog" and therefore automatically the Good Guy.
You might think again. Consider what position you would end up starting from the following two elements: self-determination is good, georgian actions in Tskhinvali were bad.
And you're going to use self-determination as a reason why one country should invade another and tell their government what to do?Not by itself, which is why I gave both elements. Ah, but maybe I didn't understand that you were posting satire (i.e. a caricature of political opposition). Sorry

Minneapolis-Preparations for the Republican convention are in full swing and will begin Monday evening barring landfall by hurricane Gustav on the Gulf Coast.
In an attempt to surpass the Democratic Convention's White House stage theme in Denver, the Republicans have begun to piece together a recreation of the Vietnamese prison cell in which John McCain spent much of the war after being shot down.
McCain, who will make his acceptance speech barefoot and in prison garb, will be introduced by Minnesota Govenor Tim Pawlenty on Thursday night.
