What is fascist, I don't like.
What I don't like, doesn't necessarily mean it's fascist. According to the definition of fascism, Lenin completely fits into the category.

No, you said:
"I don't care how you define fascism, all I'm concerned with was that Lenin was NOT a nice guy and did not implement an idyllic society, rather, a harsh dictatorship of the party OVER the masses."

Therefore you call Lenin a "fascist" merely as an expression of your negative feelings towards him, not because it was a scientifically correct charachterisation. I'm much more carefull with my use of the term. Even all the openly terroristic forms of capitalist governments aren't fascist.
According to the definition of fascism, Lenin completely fits into the category.

Only if you take some cold-warrior "totalitarianist" definition of fascism, instead of concrete-historical analysis.

No, you're wrong. My statement was directed towards you. It implied, "I don't care how YOU define fascism." I'm not going to get into an arguement on what is fascism, that's why I dismissed the topic.

I do not refer to Lenin as a fascist merely to express my discontent with him and his actions, I refer to him as a fascist since it fits in with the general definition of the word 'fascist.'

Closer to:

Hate of authority -> OD on Heinlein -> Anarchism -> Minarchism -> Moderate Libertarianism -> Violent break from Libertarianism -> Democratic Socialism with strong Statist tendencies.

I'm a former anarchist. I rather regret my earlier zeal, as I feel I was misguided.

also to make a correction. i was into anarchism before i found punk rock, it jsut cememnted it. i would say education and hope is what turned me anarchist. also, stop fighting about wether or not lenin was a fascist. there is little difference between the bolshevics and the fascists. the fascists beleived in the uber mensch, the soviets the vangaurd. they both beleived in the idea that the state comes first. and the state was very strong. so you could call lenin a fascist and get away with it. either way he was an asshole and leninists should not be trusted. now lennon, he was a guy i liked.

I'd like to correct myself now that I remember more on how I got into anarchism. I actually found out what anarchism was via the punk scene, but what influenced me to become an anarchist was....Ayn Rand. One of her quotes inspired me to look into anarchism. The quote was:

"The only proper purpose of a government is to protect man's rights, which means: to protect him from physical violence. A proper government is only a policeman, acting as an agent of man's self-defense, and, as such, may only resort to force only against those who start the use of force."-Ayn Rand

I started off as a minarchist since I still believed that a police force was necessary in anarchist society.

Interesting.

I've actually been really confused for awhile about what I wanted to identify myself with. I've also had trouble educating my classmates about anarchism. For example, here is a conversation I had with two Juniors (I'm a Freshman):

Junior: He's an anarchist. That's why I had to beat him up an take his watch.
Junior2: Really...
Junior: Yea. Because in an anarchist society you can do whatever you want.
Me: Do you honestly know nothing about anarchism or are you joking around?

Very amusing actually. And they didn't beat me up, that part was a joke.
