[late]

I am, by nature and nurture, a pessimist.

But my thinking of late is running the other way. Trump is going to lose. Putin is in deep doo doo. The attacks on oil infrastructure should be the beginning of the end. Xi just figured out that pissing us off has no upside, and did a U turn. It's not clear yet, because everyone below him is scared witless. But I think we will come to an understanding. I have been writing about the awkwardness of our relationship with Israel for a long time. I never thought I'd see it change, but it has. I don't know how it will all shake out, truth be told, I don't care. But most of the crap they used to pull won't work now. We should wind up with an ordinary relationship. Which is as it should be.

Granted, there is a laundry list of other problems, but esp. corruption and climate change.

But it's a pleasant moment, and I am enjoying it.
