Corporate globalization and the idea of eight men who feel they are justified in this dictatorial practice because they are elected in their countries is an enormous threat to democracy and to human rights. The militarization of space, occupation of Iraq, the National Missile Defense system; all are important topics to voice our disagreement and opposition about.
The G8 rallies must take on a more confrontational stance. This does not mean screaming profanities at the police and lighting dumpsters on fire like homocidal maniacs, but forming strong action collectives. Only through serious organization and a direct expression of our demands will we get their attention.
For those militants who decide to participate in the G8 rally in Chicago, Illinois, I would like to offer one bit of advice:
"Fuck you, parasites!" Is not a viable revolutionary slogan. It doesn't state your purpose, demands, or indignation, it just makes people look at you like a criminal.
When the time comes for loud shouts of dissent, we should present ourselves as willful opponents of this union of economically motivated governments. Stating our demands in a loud voice is all that is needed to communicate directly with them.
We need to treat this like a war on humanity. That doesn't mean acquiring bombs and firearms and attacking our politicians in their homes, but being strong as one body, with absolute tactical unity.
Remember, an organized body of people can clash far more readily with a corrupt government than a scattered bunch of dissentious activists. We need to take this to the streets en masse. Let's put some effort into this, because it will ultimately determine the future of our world.
