The Minnesota Police Reserve Officers Association provides the people of Minnesota an opportunity to support reserve police officers and reserve deputy sheriffs through its Donor Program. Utilizing the services of a professional fundraising consultant, Xentel, Inc., the MPROA asks concerned citizens and businesses to support programs the benefit reserve officers with a financial contribution. It is through the generous donations of thousands of Minnesotans that the MPROA is able to fund important programs that provide needed training and assistance to Minnesota’s volunteer law enforcement officers. The Board of Directors places considerable importance on spending these funds as prudently and effectively as possible.

+ Xentel is a publicly-traded company (Xentel DM Incorporated - TSX Venture Exchange: XDM) and is a nationally recognized leader in fundraising assistance for nonprofit organizations. Xentel has earned high marks for its business practices and is highly regarded by law enforcement and public safety organizations.

+ The Board of Directors works closely with Xentel and government regulators, including the Office of the Minnesota Attorney General, to ensure that the association’s fundraising efforts are of the very highest degree of integrity and professionalism and are in full compliance with state and federal law. The MPROA has received very few complaints or negative comments in response to the fundraising campaigns.

The Minnesota Police deparment did a hell of a job protecting the citizens of the Twin Cities and Republican delegates from anarchist terror groups and other criminals.
So I encourage every one to help out the brave Officers of this great state.

You've got to be kidding me. Police officers have fantastic pay and benefits compared to other workers with comparable skill levels.

It's called hazard pay. You complaining?

What hazard? Statistically speaking police work is fairly safe. Trucking is a much more dangerous profession.

Truck drivers also get paid better, if I'm not mistaken.

Truckers are paid pretty well, yes. Police officers are overpaid because they are public sector employees, not because their work is dangerous. Almost everyone in the public sector is grossly overpaid.

I think the private sector would pay more to Police officers as is proven by Blackwater who pay a much higher salary to their contractors then the Army pays even to its most elite Units.

Yes...they're soldiers in a war zone, where it actually is extremely dangerous.

If what rent-a-cops are paid is anything to go buy, most normal cops wouldn't get paid nearly as much as they do now (remember to take benefits into account). Elite SWAT units and detectives would probably get paid more.

Well the market proves you wrong Dave in New York for example we had a huge loss of exprienced police officers to the Burbs because they offered much more money for their services. The result was roughly a 30% raise across the board in NYC plus additional benefits.

Suburban governments offered them more money? "Competition" between various levels of government is rather different than market competition.
