So true. I know that skinster was active in the original Parliament thread for the RF, but she mentioned in another thread that her birthday was this past Friday and she would be away over the weekend. Hopefully the extension of the election to Wednsday will allow her and other radical leftists to make their voices heard.

On that note, are there any members of the SLD that might defect to RF-SN like Demosthenes has? If the SLD has to shift its policy right to bring the PUC and PLN (and maybe other rightist parties) into a coalition, would such left leaning SLDers possibly create a faction that would be more willing to negotiate with us, or defect altogether?

Should we play on such fears of the SLD shifting right as Wiam has been doing lately, with his rhetoric that the SLD are getting in bed with closet fascists/racists? The PNL is led by Dave who is infamous for defending racialist theories and have members such as CM and Dr. House who often agree on with him on these topics. However, their stated platform has no mention of any racialist policy. Should we try to use to our advantage their backgrounds on Pofo, or would such a strategy backfire and turn away potential RF-SN voters?

I will explain bluntly why I was pissed off with the SN leadership yesterday evening.

#1 The joint platform.

A joint platform is more beneficial to the RF than the SN.

We are a relatively small Party and getting the main planks of our policy incorporated into the SN platform effectively triples the chances of at least some of our policy goals being adopted by the new legislature, not the SN's, our's. Seven votes are a nuisance; nineteen votes are less easy to ignore in the inevitable day to day, bread and butter, horse trading that will ensue if this parliament ever gets off the ground. Without the joint platform why bother with a coalition? Potemkin, deliberately or not, seemed to be putting the kibosh on this.

#2 The SLD negotiations: an equal partnership

According to the coalition agreement if there was any change in SN policy/strategy the RF was to be notified. Within minutes of the agreement the SN were unilaterally attempting to open talks with the SLD/PUC (previous to this talks with the SLD had broken down) and we were not notified. I registered protests by official note in the SLD/SN, the Workers' group and the RF/SN thread. They were ignored. Was this an equal partnership?

#3 Potemkin

Yes I am a Leninist and there is animosity between us, Potemkin forced me out of the Worker's Group, but that was not why I made such a fuss. Honi had asked me to use my contacts within the SN to help make the best deal possible. I thought I had and then the SN leadership shit on it. I can understand if you think I have infiltrated your movement to screw you over. And if you do? I think it only for the best if I resign from any (semi)official Party duties.

Anyway these teething problems are now sorted out, the coalition is up and running, and so make of the deal what you will as my part in any ongoing or future negotiations is at an end unless I can be assured of your continued confidence in my service to the Party.
