Onnela sounds kinda feminine. How bout Nyford, Ny being "New" in Swedish, and Fjord being an inlet in Norwegian. Republic of Pofo sounds good to me too.

The land of most countries are traditionally portrayed as feminine and the governments as masculine. In the US and France we both have versions of Lady Liberty, for instance. Ireland had Hibernia, and even England was often portrayed as feminine - though like with the US John Bull (the government) was male.

So, in short, nothing wrong with the feminine sounding name. I mean, do you really want to say you come from the Fatherland?

At any rate, I'm using Pofolandia, as it sounds like something else near and dear. I don't care what anyone else calls it.

Onnela is dumb, mainly because it means nothing.

"Republic of PoFo" and "Pofolandia" are both good.

I agree that lands/nations are often given a feminine identify (e.g. the motherland), but the official names don't sound that feminine,

e.g. England, United Kingdom, Ireland, Iceland, Deutscheland, Russia, Espanol

then compare that to "Onnela". Sounds like a female counterpart to Shakespeare's Othella.

'Onnela' sounds like a low fat spread to me.

The obvious name is Atlantis. We could use 'Lyonesse', or 'Westernesse'.

'Hy-Brasil' is too close to 'Brazil', I guess.

Only because you people are incapable of reaching a coalition. What are other parties to do while we wait?

Seeing as the Socialists are the only organised Party with a healthy minority to boot, 36 votes, give us a shot at government until you pull the collective finger out of your arses.

I believe we've already figured out which possible coalitions could form a majority government. The figures are somewhere in the forum, I think it was Dr House that produced them. Each hypothetical coalition should simply be voted upon by party members of that said coalition, and the power of the polls should be able to generate for us a majority government.

That, or we amend the constitution to allow the formation of minority governments and the reds can have a go at it. Either way, I just want to start voting on legislation. This is getting boring and the game might be at stake.
