Rancid wrote:It reminds me of the story of Juan Seguin. He is a founding father of the Republic of Texas. Long story short, he was run out of Texas back to Mexico (the very country he fought against for independence... he was arrested there). Basically, racist white people blaming shit on him. He eventually did return to Texas and is buried about an 1.5hrs out of Austin (closer to San Antonio).
Anyway, moral of the story to the Colombian woman is, they will throw her under the bus when it is convenient to MAGA. She will never be seen as an equal with MAGAs. Careful who you decide to lay in bed with....
Were there Jews that tried to ride with the Nazis?
People think that when they read these novels about the Jewish experiences in Auschwitz and Bergen Belsen and all the other horrible camps, that the Nazi SS guards and the Nazi German officers were the most hated. Do not get me wrong. They were held responsible. The most despised were the Jewish Capos. Or the Jewish foremen who would do the dirty work for the Germans. They would get extra rations and good food, and a warm blanket and avoid horrible jobs like throwing the dead bodies into the graves or digging the graves in the cold. They would avoid harsh physical labor without coats or shoes in the cold mud. They would do the job of beating the other Jews into compliance in order to get special privileges. They had to do it in their own minds to survive and be better off in the circumstances. Classic sellouts. Those were really hated Rancid by the Jewish prisoners. They saw it as betrayal for better treatment.
It was about how the Jewish Capos would perceive their world. The Germans would always have the power, win the war and the new world meant they had to be their minion and servant and get slightly better conditions.
The slaves of the field felt similar about the slaves in the house of the masters. The house slaves would get extra scraps to eat, and they would get better clothing and the house slaves would avoid the hot sun of the fields and the whippings. And meager food rations of the field slaves. The field slaves called those slaves house n-----s. That is what they called them. Hated a lot. They were portrayed cartoonishly by Quentin Tarantino's movie Django. Here is a scene from a movie about Capos and about House Slaves.
